These are cases where the Local Authority makes an application for a child considered to be at risk of suffering significant harm.

Possible Orders are:-

 
  i. Care Order  
 
Places the child in the care of the Local Authority. It gives the Local Authority parental responsibility for the child which means that the Local Authority make decisions about the child in the same way as a parent can.
 
  ii. Supervision Order  
 
The Local Authority supervises, advises, assists and befriends the child.
 
  iii. No Order  
 
Sometimes, the Court decides that it is not appropriate to make any Order on such applications.
