These are cases where the Local Authority makes an application
for a child considered to be at risk of suffering significant
harm.
Possible Orders are:-
i. Care Order
Places the child in the care
of the Local Authority. It gives the Local Authority parental
responsibility for the child which means that the Local Authority
make decisions about the child in the same way as a parent
can.
ii. Supervision Order
The Local
Authority supervises, advises, assists and befriends the child.
iii. No Order
Sometimes,
the Court decides that it is not appropriate to make any Order
on such applications.
Our Ms Hamer has been a member
of The Law Society’s Children Panel since 1994 enabling her
to act for children in these proceedings.
